UAlbany Head Coach Will Brown Previews NCAA Tourney Match-Up [AUDIO]

The UAlbany Great Danes have shocked the world- or at least those who follow the America East. On Saturday, Albany pulled off their second major upset of their conference tournament, beating Stony Brook 69-60 to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Following their win, head coach Will Brown joined Joe & Brix to talk about his team’s impressive run and their upcoming battle against Mount St. Mary’s on Tuesday night. During their conversation, the coach weighed in the keys to wining the America East tourney, his team’s play-in game selection, and their chances to make some noise over the weekend.

UAlbany Coach Will Brown Previews the America East Finals [AUDIO]

Despite the fact that they were hosting the first weekend of the America East tournament, very few expected UAlbany to make it out of the first two rounds alive. But, after housing UMBC by 30, and then upsetting the powerhouse Vermont Catamounts 67-58, the Danes once again find themselves on the verge of an NCAA tournament bid.

Earlier today on Joe & Brix, head coach Will Brown joined the program to discuss his team’s unaccepted run, and to preview Saturday’s matchup against the second seeded Stony Brook Seawolves. The championship, with a trip to the big dance on the line, will be played at Stony Brook and can be found on ESPN2 starting at 11:30.

Duke Avoids Upset, Eliminates UAlbany From Men’s NCAA Tournament

During his pregame speech to the team, UAlbany Great Danes head coach Will Brown said that nobody believed they could win today's Second Round game in the Men's NCAA Tournament against Duke, except for themselves. Well regardless of how accurate that statement may be, the Great Danes put in a very gritty effort against one of the best teams in the country, but eventually lost to the Blue Devils by a score of 73-61.
