New York Mets vice president of player development and scouting Paul DePodesta is leaving the Mets. He has now take a prominent front-office role with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns as chief strategy officer.

DePodesta played football in college and wanted to be a football coach. After graduating from Harvard , he became an intern for the Canadian Football League's Baltimore Stallions in 1995.

Depodesta, has been considered to be a very strange move. He's never has worked in pro football, but is viewed as the best at putting together scouting groups. The Browns began pursuing him shortly after the Mets lost the World Series. He will answer only to the Browns ownership and President.
