For the first time ever, the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships will be held in The Onondaga Nation. This will be the first time that lacrosse will return home, and be played on the tribes land. Featured on the Iroquois National team will include U Albany's own Thompson trio brothers Miles and Lyle, along with their cousin Ty.

The event will take place at three venues in and around the Syracuse area, from Sept. 18-27, which includes the opening ceremony at the  War Memorial Arena, Onondaga Nation Arena and the Carrier Dome.

The World Indoor Lacrosse Championship is an international tournament that is held every four years. The 2011 Championships were held in Prague, Czech Republic. The defending World Champions are Canada, with the Iroquois Nationals finishing second and the United States finishing third. These nations will compete in 2015 against Australia, Czech Republic, England, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey.
