Ask most people about Bryant University and you would probably get a whole lot of shrugging shoulders. Ask UAlbany Football players and you would get a different reaction.

Bryant had defeated the Great Danes two straight times coming into their battle Saturday at Bulldog Stadium, home of Bryant. That "losing" streak ended with a 31-14 win for UAlbany.

Despite numerous turnovers, UAbany was able to overcome and drop Bryant to an Northeast Conference worst 0-6 on the season.

Senior running back Drew Smith coughed up the football twice, but his defense bailed him out. He finished with 104 yards rushing in the win, scoring 3 touchdowns to boot.

UAlbany was able to make some team history in the game as well. Senior wide receiver Ryan Kirchner broke the all time school record for receptions, breaking the old mark of 147 catches set by Tim Bush who played for the Great Danes from 2007 through 2009.

With the game knotted at 14, UAlbany free safety Justinian Mason, a junior, made the game turning play picking off a pass and rumbling 75 yards for a touchdown to put the Danes up for good.

UAlbany is now 5-1 on the season, and 3-0 in conference play. When the new FCS rankings come out Monday, the Great Danes hope to crack the top 25 for only the third time in team history.
