Our two local schools with a chance of joining the Big Dance begin their journey's this week. UAlbany plays their first game of the America East Tournament Saturday at the SEFCU Arena and Siena plays their first MAAC tournament game tonight at the Times Union Center. So here's the question, who has a chance of going farther?

First off, Siena had the worse season with the far younger team and far more drama. That being said the MAAC is also down a bit this year. If #10 ranked Siena can upset the #7 ranked Quinnipiac team tonight they have the second seeded Canisius Golden Griffins waiting for them tomorrow. Even though Siena beat them once here at the TU Center my confidence isn't super high there.

Now on to UAlbany. The #4 Great Danes host the #5 Stony Brook Seawolves this Saturday at the SEFCU Arena in what looks like a great game. Let's say for the sake of argument the Great Danes advance. Barring a pretty big upset their next opponent would be the top ranked Vermont Catamounts.

Simply because Vermont is lurking as the Great Danes second possible opponent, I'll take Siena. I have to admit, I'm not very confident about either of the Men's teams.

If I had to bet a small house it would be on one of the Women's teams. UAlbany #1 then Siena #2.
