UAlbany basketball star Peter Hooley will represent Australia in the upcoming World University Games in South Korea.

The games, which take place from July 3-14, pit university athletes from around the world against each other in an Olympic-style setting.

Hooley, one of several Australians to come to UAlbany over the last few years, is one of the biggest stars in Danes' basketball history.

His buzzer-beating three-pointer in this year's America East Championship game against Stony Brook sent UA to its third straight NCAA tournament.

The shot, coupled with Hooley's story of triumph after his mom's passing during the season, became a national story. Hooley appeared live on SportsCenter and penned a piece for the New York Post.

Hooley finished second on the team in scoring this year with 13.0 points per game. Hooley still has a year of eligibility left, but having already completed his degree, there is still some speculation as to whether he will return to Albany next season.
