The UAlbany women's basketball team wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming America East Conference tournament by beating Hartford on Thursday night.

Shereesha Richards had 16 points on Thursday (UAlbany Athletics).

The Danes, who have advanced to three straight NCAA tournaments, finish behind Maine in the league standings. UAlbany is 20-8 overall (13-2 in league play) with one league game left.

The Danes host Vermont on Sunday at 2 p.m. at SEFCU Arena. It's Senior Day.

Imani Tate led the Danes with 17 points while Shereesha Richards had 16 points and nine rebounds.

Taking care of the ball was key for the Danes in the win. UAlbany had 17 assists and just nine turnovers -- while they baited the Hawks into 15 turnovers.

The America East tournament is being held at Binghamton.
