Union Freshman Sebastian Gingras was named the ECAC's Rookie of the week.

The rookie defenseman scored two goals in helping Union to a 5-3 win over Bowling Green last Friday night.

Union rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the first period. Gingras started his two goal night with a tally on the power play that made it 2-1.

Still trailing in the second period, Gingras scored at 12.46 of the second period to break a 2-2 deadlock and Union never looked back.

Gingras is the first freshman from Union to net two goals in a game since Trevor Mingoia did it in a 7-1 win over  Dartmouth back on Jan 7th of 2012.

With his pair of success's Gingras  is now tied for second on the team with three points. he has played in only three games.

Union is off the ice in competition until October 26th when they visit AIC for a 7:05 faceoff
