After winning the New York-Penn League championship in 2013, and advancing to the championship series again in 2014, the Tri-City ValleyCats are getting set for the 2015 campaign.

The short-season Single-A affiliate of the Houston Astros are just two and a half weeks away from the season opener. The 'Cats open up the season on June 19 before beginning the home portion of the schedule on June 25th against the Staten Island Yankees.

Today, I spoke with ValleyCats Assistant GM Matt Callahan to talk about what the organization is doing to get ready for the season. With the MLB Draft less than a week away, the Front Office has a lot to think about in terms of getting the players here once the Astros get them signed.

Furthermore, we spoke with Callahan about what's new around Joe Bruno Stadium in 2015 -- as well as some of the major promotions on deck this season, including Jose Altuve Bat Night (July 29) and Bernie Williams Bobblehead Night (Aug. 21).

The ValleyCats are now over 30 former players in the major leagues, and we spoke to Callahan about the most recent call-ups in Preston Tucker and Michael Feliz.
