The Tri-City ValleyCats won again last night and are now 15-13 this season. I was at last night's game and Rodger Wyland was at the previous night's 2-0 win over the Connecticut Tigers. After that win, we got in touch with ValleyCats skipper Lamarr Rogers:

We spoke with Rogers about the grind that his players face every day, the team's performance to this point, what life in the minor leagues is like, and how hard it is to balance the desire to win with the long-term objectives of the Houston Astros.

The 'Cats have had a tremendous amount of success here lately, getting to playoffs for three-straight years and winning the New York-Penn League championship in 2013.

The 'Cats advanced back to the NYPL title series in 2014 but fell to the State College Spikes (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate).

The ValleyCats are home much of August.
