The New York Mets have finally parted ways with pitcher Matt Harvey. The Mets were desperate to get rid of Harvey and desperately needed a catcher. So the deal was made with the Cincinnati Reds for catcher Devin Mesoraco and cash. We reached out to Lance McAlister, sports talk host from ESPN in Cincinnati to get his evaluation of the trade.

Seems as though neither of these of these guys are highly sought after at this moment. The bottom line is the Mets appear to have wanted some say as to where Harvey played next instead of a scenario where he's a Free Agent and ends up in devision or even in Yankees Pinstripes. I think ultimately it was a smart move but I don't expect Mesoraco to resurrect his career with the Mets but here's hoping he helps get the Mets back on track. I also expect Harvey to be moved at the trade deadline if he's any good with the Reds.
