All Adam Warren has done this year was out duel Esmil Rodgers, Chris Capuano and any youngster in the farm system for the Yankees fifth starting position and then keep it by getting stronger. When Chris Capuano and Masihiro Tanaka both returned from the Disabled List Joe Girardi had to decide if his bullpen was strong enough without Warren or if he was needed in the starting rotation. Warren has gone from a long reliever to a guy Girardi can count on for six to seven innings.

The fifth spot is officially Warren's now and today he goes up against an Angels line up that may not be the scariest in baseball but has Mike Trout and Albert Pujols batting second and third. The same line up that almost took the Yankees into extras last night with a four run ninth inning. If Adam Warren can continue to prove he belongs Joe Girardi will have a tough decision to make when Ivan Nova returns later this month.
