An Adirondacks campground has made a list of the eight most beautiful campgrounds in the country!

As an avid camper (yes I do things like go off the grid, canoe to my site, stay in a tent- the real deal), I was so excited to see this list from the Washington Post.  Frankly, there are so many beautiful camping spots in New York, from the Adirondacks to the Catskills, so I’m not quite sure how it can be even cut down to one choice.  But nonetheless, kudos to the Washington Post for giving our state some recognition.

Cranberry Lake Campground made the cut falling in the Top 8.  Up in the Adirondack Park in Cranberry Lake, NY, the campground has about 171 campsites.  It’s not tiny, but it is remote.  There’s tens of thousands of acres of wilderness, water, hiking trails, and more.  If you’re not about fully going off of the grid, it’s ok because there are showers, toilets and picnic area.  You can get more info on the campsite here.  PLUS, if you’re interested in a virtual tour to see the scenery, click here.
