Arrested! Police Imposter Pulls Women Over in NY, Asks for Nudes

You are driving down the road, minding your own business, when all of a sudden you see those dreaded lights in your mirror. You are being pulled over but what did you do?

So many thoughts are running through your head. Were you speeding? On the phone? You are so nervous you don't notice the officer is driving a Toyota Prius. Well, that isn't a police officer.

Earlier this week Suffolk County Police arrested a New York man for impersonating an officer but that isn't all he was doing.

A female motorist complained that not only was she stopped by this imposter, during the stop the man obtained the victim’s personal cell phone number. Shortly thereafter, the man contacted the victim and requested that she send him nude photographs of herself.

On the evening of February 8th, the suspect was attempting to meet one of his victims. That is when officers intercepted the meeting and arrested David Olivari. Olivari was driving a 2007 Toyota Prius with a dashboard mounted flashing light similar to the vehicle reported in previous reports.

Olivari, a New York State Corrections Officer, is now charged with:

Criminal Impersonation 1^st Degree
Criminal Impersonation 2^nd Degree
Grand Larceny 4^th Degree
2 counts of Unlawful Imprisonment 2^nd Degree
Unauthorized Use of a Computer

22 'Most Wanted' in New York

Authorities across New York State, including the FBI, have identified these people as its "Most Wanted Fugitives." Officials ask for help in finding them but warn they should be considered "armed and dangerous."

Utica, NY Police Department's Top Ten Most Wanted

The City of Utica Police Department in Utica, New York has released its Top Ten Most Wanted List for the month of February 2022.

Several of those listed have previously been featured in separate posts about individual crimes, on a previous wanted list, or as the Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers Wanted Person of the Week.

The reader is reminded that all persons, either suspected of or arrested in connection to, a crime, are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
