As a means of transportation, the bobsled has been around forever. It wasn't until the late 1800s that racing was established thanks to the Swiss adding a steering mechanism to a toboggan.

Last week the New York metro area saw close to 12 inches of snow fall. This week, weathermen are on high alert as the Super Bowl approaches.

Well, apparently the Sun has decided to blow!!! The Sun has erupted and this means great things for us here in Upstate New York. Northern Lights!!!

I'm thinking that this lovely Friday needs a huge smile attached to it. An "it feels good to be Friday" smile. Oh, and I'm not talking about the kind of smile motivated by the thought of a booze-filled weekend. I'm talking "holy crap people are awesome" as they cheer on this little kid. Yeah, that kind of smile.

Forget A-Rod, steroids and the Yanks losing games. In my mind that's all trivial. There's some good coming out of the MLB and it involves an old time first base coach, kids sitting in the stands and some damn good advice.
