NCAA College Football – Week Eight Recap
It was the most exciting week of the year so far, as six Top 25 teams, including two in the Top Five, went down to defeats. Oklahoma and Wisconsin saw their national title hopes take a big hit, while LSU and Alabama continue on a collision course for a huge showdown in two weeks. Here are all the highlights from this week in the Top 25.
LSU, Alabama Take Top Spots in First BCS Poll
SEC powerhouses Louisiana State and Alabama rank first and second in the first BCS poll of the year. In-state and Big 12 rivals Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are third and fourth, with Boise State rounding out the top five.
South Carolina Star Running Back Marcus Lattimore Out for Season with Knee Injury
South Carolina’s star sophomore running back Marcus Lattimore will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn knee ligament and cartilage damage during the Gamecocks’ 14-12 win over Mississippi State on Saturday. Lattimore came into the game leading the SEC in rushing, but left after carrying the ball 17 times for just 39 yards.
