Big Twitter Fight Breaks Out Between Members Of #BillsMafia
They say that "Mafia means family" and last night there was a huge family fight. Some of the Bills' biggest fans were at each other's throats.
If you were on Twitter last night and you follow any of the more well-known Bills Mafia fans, you may have seen that there was a bit of a rift that started over some comments that were made.
Here's what happened...
Josh Barnett of The Buffalo News wrote a piece about a fan named Sara Larson who logged about 38,000 miles of travel to make it to every single game for the Bills last year. It's an amazing feat considering that she lives in Florida. Good for her!
The fight started after this comment came through from Hammer (who owns Hammer's Lot):
Hammer is referring to Ken Johnson (also known as Pinto Kenny because he cooks out of the hood of his car). Pinto Kenny has never missed a single game either.
What followed was a flurry of tweets that pointed out that there's nothing wrong with being excited about both fans. It's not that one is more of a fan than another or that one is more important to the team than another.
Now, before people freak out about how this isn't news, I know it isn't. There are many more important things happening in the world. But also...we aren't a news station. We talk about things that people are talking about. That's what we do...and if you're a Bills fan that follows other Bills fans on Twitter, you know that a lot of people were talking about it.
I have to agree that stuff like this isn't what Bills Mafia is known for. When you think Bills Mafia, you should think about a fan base that values fandom above all other things. I don't know Hammer personally and I don't know his personality. I'd prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that he was trying to make a joke that didn't go over as well as he'd hoped it would.
Regardless...Bills Mafia should be proud to have such passionate fans. They just need to stick together and support that team. Because you know, this year could be our year!
