Bob Baffert’s Week Got Even Worse

It’s been a rough week for trainer Bob Baffert. Two of his horses tested positive for substance abuse, and then one of them Nadal suffered a career ending injury. Without Nadal and Charlatan who allegedly tested positive, the strength of the June 20^th Belmont Stakes takes a big hit. Both of those horses would have been among the favorites, and Nadal was considered one of the favorites to win the Triple Crown Series. Plenty of positive storylines in horse racing during the pandemic, until this week.
