Guilderland's Andrew Platek and Glens Falls' Joseph Girard III will battle tonight in a pivotal ACC basketball game. Both standout athletes from the Capital Region will continue their seasons into conference. Platek, the senior who could be playing his final season in Chapel Hill, is coming off arguably the best individual moment of his career. Platek hit a buzzer beating shot against the Miami Hurricanes earlier this month.

Girard III has had an up and down season so far for the Orange. Early in the season, Girard had played some of his worst games of his career. The production was so below standard that here at 104.5 The Team we questioned if it was time to be concerned about his play. In the Orange's most recent victory over rival Georgetown, JG3 posted his best game of the season with eighteen points and eight assists.

The previously scheduled matchup between these two teams was set for Saturday January 2nd but due to COVID-19 protocols, the game had to be rescheduled for Tuesday January 12th. Both teams are battling for positioning in the ACC standings and a potential NCAA tournament bid. Tip off between the North Carolina Tar Heels and Syracuse Orange is scheduled for 9pm. You can watch the game live on the ACC Network.
