This week on 104.5 the Team we are continuing the #CapitalRegionGreatestSportsMomentBracket as we are trying to crown the best sports moment in the history of the Capital Region as decided by you! Today's matchup consists of another great moment in local college basketball history versus yet another horse racing memory.

(3) Ronald Moore's NCAA Tournament Heroics

Fresh off a big upset in 2008 over Vanderbilt, the Saints were much respected in 2009 and earned their highest seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history. The faced Evan Turner and the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first round as a 9 seed and played one of the most memorable games in local college basketball history. I know I remember it quite fondly as one of the best Tournament games I watched start to finish! If you don't recall, watch what Ronald Moore and the Saints did below:

(6) Secretariat Loses the Whitney to Onion

Saratoga is where Triple Crown winners go to die and maybe the biggest upset of all time in the Spa City was Onion defeating Secretariat in the 1973 Whitney Handicap. It sure was a dramatic upset by Onion and Secretariat coming to Saratoga still to this days is one of the more impactful moments in Capital Region Sports History!
