This week on 104.5 the Team we are starting up the #CapitalRegionGreatestSportsMomentBracket as we are trying to crown the best sports moment in the history of the Capital Region as decided by you! There are so many great moments and like the NCAA had to expand their field, we expanded ours so therefore today we have our second play-in matchup today!

(7) UAlbany Men's Lacrosse Beats Denver to Advance to Final Four

In 2018, the Great Danes made the Final Four in Lacrosse becoming the second UAlbany program to make a Final Four and the first in Men's Lacrosse history. The game against Denver was intense as every time the Danes pulled ahead, Denver stormed back. Although they lost to Yale in their next game, the moment at Hofstra University was one to remember!

(7) Syracuse wins Albany Regional on way to 03 Championship

Syracuse is not a Capital Region team but they do have a large stake in local fans. To add to it, Craig Forth was a hometown kid who was playing in the NCAA Tournament in Albany. The Orange beat Oklahoma at the Pepsi Arena to advance to the Final Four. Forth has since had his jersey retired at Columbia High School. Relive the game below (you know there are no other live sports on so why not?):

NOTE ON THE SEEDS: The bracket has been designed for two sides on the bracket and not 4 Regionals. In other words these two 7 seeds could be considered two 4 seeds. The 1's and 2's would be considered all 1's and 3's and 4's would be all 2's. However as currently constructed, it is just 2 sides but could still be looked upon the other way!

Who should win? Vote now here!
