Capital Region Greatest Sports Moment Bracket: Quarterfinal Matchup 2

This week on 104.5 the Team we are starting up the #CapitalRegionGreatestSportsMomentBracket as we are trying to crown the best sports moment in the history of the Capital Region as decided by you! And today continues the Quarterfinal Stage in our bracket! Today is the return of a true force in the Union Men's Hockey Team that won the College Title in 2014! They will go up against the UAlbany Lacrosse Final 4 team who have had 2 impressive performances in their own right. The winner will face Peter Hooley's shot in the next round!

(3) Union Men's Hockey Wins NCAA hockey title vs. No.1 Minnesota

In 2014, the Union Men's Hockey team found themselves in the Frozen Four but they were not done there! After defeating Boston College, the Dutchmen trailed the Golden Gophers 2-1 in the first period but scored 3 goals in a 1:54 span and never looked back. Union went 16-0-1 in their last 17 games to capture their first NCAA hockey title. Relive it below!

(7) UAlbany Men's Lacrosse Beats Denver to Advance to Final Four

In 2018, the Great Danes made the Final Four in Lacrosse becoming the second UAlbany program to make a Final Four and the first in Men's Lacrosse history. The game against Denver was intense as every time the Danes pulled ahead, Denver stormed back. Although they lost to Yale in their next game, the moment at Hofstra University was one to remember!
