This week on 104.5 the Team we are starting up the #CapitalRegionGreatestSportsMomentBracket as we are trying to crown the best sports moment in the history of the Capital Region as decided by you! And today continues the Quarterfinal Stage in our bracket! Today is the last Quarterfinal matchup as Ronald Moore's heroics for Siena and the Albany Firebirds Arena Bowl championship in 1999 compete for the last spot in the Final Four and a matchup with gold medalist Jeff Blatnick!

(3) Ronald Moore's NCAA Tournament Heroics

Fresh off a big upset in 2008 over Vanderbilt, the Saints were much respected in 2009 and earned their highest seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history. The faced Evan Turner and the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first round as a 9 seed and played one of the most memorable games in local college basketball history. I know I remember it quite fondly as one of the best Tournament games I watched start to finish! If you don't recall, watch what Ronald Moore and the Saints did below:

(7) Albany Firebirds 1999 Arena Bowl

After an 11-3 season in 199, the Albany Firebirds cruised to the Arena Bowl to face and host the #8 seed defending champion Orlando Predators on national television. The 4th quarter was wild but the Firebirds answered every Orlando score and Touchdown Eddie Brown won the MVP. The Firebirds already defeated the Albany Patroons 1984 title in the play-in matchup! Check out the excitement before the game below:
