And today continues the Quarterfinal Stage in our bracket! Today's matchup is between the moment with the most momentum, Jeff Blatnick winning the gold medal, versus Ronald Moore's heroics in the 2009 NCAA Tournament that has yet to be battle-tested!

(3) Ronald Moore's NCAA Tournament Heroics

Fresh off a big upset in 2008 over Vanderbilt, the Saints were much respected in 2009 and earned their highest seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history. The faced Evan Turner and the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first round as a 9 seed and played one of the most memorable games in local college basketball history. I know I remember it quite fondly as one of the best Tournament games I watched start to finish! If you don't recall, watch what Ronald Moore and the Saints did below:

(8) Niskayuna Native Jeff Blatnick Wins Gold Medal in 1984 Olympics

Blatnick won national championships in the late 70's in NCAA Division 2 and qualified for the 1980 Olympics but the USA boycotted them so he was unable to compete in them. He got his chance in 1984 and boy did he deliver. He won the Gold in Olmympic Greco-Roman +100 kg becoming the first American to win Gold in that event along with Steve Fraser that year. To make this even more dramatic, Blatnick had beaten Hodgkins's lymphoma 2 years prior! Watch the Final matchup below:
