Carlos Beltran hyperextended his right elbow while working in an indoor batting cage during Monday night's opening game of the Subway Series. Beltran went to manager Joe Girardi and asked to be removed from the game.

"I'm concerned because it was enough for him to take himself out of the game," said Girardi.

If Beltran is forced to go on the Disabled List he would join CC Sabathia, who is visiting Dr. James Andrews with an inflamed knee, Michael Pineda, whose back strain will have him out longer than originally thought.

Ivan Nova is already done for the year with Tommy John, and both Ichiro Suzuki and Shawn Kelly are day-to-day with back pain.
