The New York Yankees and Infielder DJ LeMahieu have reportedly agreed to a 6 year $90 million deal according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. The drawn-out negotiation appears to have finally come to an end and secures the reigning American League batting champion's services through 2026.

There was a reported impasse between the Yankees and LeMahieu over the length of the contract. All reports had the Yankees offering something close to 4 years $80 + million and LeMahieu asking for closer to 5 years $100 million. So these numbers come as something of a shock but it really looks like a win-win-win situation for the Yankees, LeMahieu, and the fans.

As it stands the Yankees 2021 lineup could be very similar to 2020's:
1) DJ LeMahieu 2B
2) Aaron Judge RF
3) Aaron Hicks CF
4) Giancarlo Stanton DH
5) Luke Voit 1B
6) Gleyber Torres SS
7) CLint Frazier LF
8) Gio Urshela 3B
9) Gary Sanchez C

One thing's for certain it feels good to pencil "The Machine's" name at the top of that list and with a deal that averages $15 million a year it feels like he's a bargain. Even towards the end of this contract when DJ is 36 and 37 years-old how much will $15 million really be compared to other contracts not only on the team but across the MLB?
