Empire Start the Season 2-0, Exact Some Revenge on Washington
The 2019 Arena Football League season for the Empire is tagged Unfinished Business because of what the Washington Valor did by prematurely ending a postseason run for Albany.
After putting up the best regular season record in 2018, the Empire fell short of the Arena Bowl, but they had some measure of revenge on their minds Saturday night in week 2 at home.
Albany took care of Columbus in the season opener and now can claim a reversal of how last season started when the Empire dropped their first two games. With many of the same players back for a second year, a 36-27 win over Washington is payback for the sour taste left by the defending champs.
Back to back home games to start the season are followed up by three straight on the road going from Philadelphia to Columbus to Atlantic City.
