As the summer fades into fall we all look forward to football season, and here on 104.5 The Team we are all counting down the days until college football. This week myself, Mike Palumbo, and Dylan DeBiccari went through the power 4 conferences, and debated who we believe is winning the conference championships this season.

ACC

Vinny- Miami

Mike- Miami

Dylan- Miami

This was the only one of the power 4 conferences that all three of us were in agreement on. Miami was one drive away from a national championship last year, and while they did lose some pieces on the defensive side they replaced those pieces in the transfer portal right away. The only question mark with this Miami team is the plug and play quarterback system, and whether Darian Mensah can replicate what Carson Beck did last season.

Big 12

Vinny- Texas Tech

Mike- BYU

Dylan- BYU

I was by myself in this one. Personally I think, even though they lost a lot of defense to the draft, that Texas Tech is still a tier above BYU. If they had Brendan Sorsby still, they could be a national title contender. As much as BYU has improved the last few years, I personally don't think they have the players to overtake Texas Tech, but again I am by myself in that regard.

Big 10

Vinny- Oregon

Mike- Oregon

Dylan- Ohio State

Let's be honest, there's no wrong choice here. Both of these teams could have been the AP number one in the preseason poll. Ohio State got that nod, but either way, both of these teams will likely be on a collision course for the conference championship. Don't sleep on Indiana though, Curt Cignetti will be right there in the mix.

SEC

Vinny- Texas

Mike- Texas A&M

Dylan- Texas

Maybe I'm biased as a Florida Gator fan, but I cannot bring myself to pick Georgia to win the SEC. At least Mike and Dylan agreed on that. But, I do believe Arch Manning with another year of development, as well as a great transfer class, can be a national title contender. Texas A&M I do think can be solid, but Mike firmly believes their defense can lead them to an SEC championship.
