Ryan Fitzpatrick played 17 seasons in the NFL, mostly as a back-up quarterback. Say what you want about the bearded journeyman QB, but you have to be pretty good to stick around for 17 years in the NFL. And, for every shortcoming Fitzpatrick had as a field general, he made up for as an entertainer.

Following his final season with the Washington Football Team, Fitzpatrick blew up social media by cheering on his former team, the Buffalo Bills, with his two sons, all of them shirtless during a January 2022 playoff game against the Patriots at Highmark Stadium. Bills Mafia went bananas.

Appropriately, following his retirement, Ryan Fitzpatrick now sits behind the analyst desk for Amazon Prime's Thursday Night Football, but his love for the Buffalo Bills is still bleeding through. According to friend of The Drive with Charlie & Dan, Ryan Talbot of syracuse.com, Fitzpatrick is promising to shed his shirt for the Amazon Prime audience on Thursday night, if he sees a certain something out of Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

According to Talbot, Fitzpatrick was appearing on the QB Room podcast, with Bills' back-up QB Kyle Allen and Josh Allen's trainer Jordan Palmer. The 40-year old, former Bills and Buccaneers quarterback told the duo what he wanted to see out of Josh Allen against the Bucs, “He doesn’t have to hurdle anybody. He doesn’t have to run over anybody, but I want to see him fired up on the sideline. I don’t want to see him just sitting there, even after a good play. He’s just become a little too calm for me and calm is like not Josh. That’s not where he needs to be. Just get the guy fired up a little bit.” Then, the former QB, who earned the nickname Fitz-magic for his 13 come-from-behind victories and 18 game-winning-drives, took it a step further.

According to Talbot, the Amazon Prime analyst told the podcast hosts, “I would love to see him run somebody over and give a first down signal, and chest bump a lineman and just see the Bills fans go crazy and I will take my shirt off on set. That’s what gets me juiced up. If there’s a hurdle and a run over with a touchdown or a big first down sign where he skips into it, like that’s something that’s going to get me going. Buffalo needs it. Buffalo needs this, Kyle (Allen).” Well, there it is. Even if you're not a Buffalo Bills fan or a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, Ryan Fitzpatrick will make Thursday night football must see tv.
