Famous Actor Races Ex-New York Jets’ RB, Ends Up in a Wheelchair [WATCH]
Former NFL running back Stevan Ridley hasn't played in the NFL since 2018, yet it seems as though he hasn't lost that competitive edge. A story emerged earlier this week claiming that Ridley was involved in a foot race with actor and comedian, Kevin Hart.
After the race, Hart posted a video on social media explaining what happened, but fans of the comedian were shocked to see the location from which Hart was filming his video.
He was in...a wheelchair?
Kevin Hart Ends Up in a Wheelchair After Race with Ex-NY Jet Stevan Ridley
As reported by CBS Sports and other outlets, actor and comedian Kevin Hart tore multiple muscles in his abdomen while attempting to run a 40-yard dash against former NFL running back, Stevan Ridley.
Hart posted a video on his Instagram account, explaining the incident as only he could:
Apparently, running a 40-yard dash is now officially a young man's game.
It's been five years since the now-34-year old Ridley played in the NFL, but clearly, he still has the same athleticism that allowed him to rush for over 3,100 yards over eight NFL seasons. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 3rd round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and was a part of their Super Bowl XLIX-winning team in 2014.
Ridley joined the rival New York Jets for the 2015 season. He played in eight games, but was able to collect just 90 rushing yards that season.
After announcing his injury, Hart received some words of encouragement (and slight mockery) from some of his celebrity friends via Instagram comments. Here are a few of our favorites:
