Buffalo Bills' fans, as well as football fans everywhere, will certainly breathe a sigh of relief after reading this update on the condition of Bills' RB Damien Harris. The first-year Bill was taken from Highmark Stadium to a nearby hospital after suffering a neck injury in Sunday's game, an injury that required an ambulance to drive onto the field.

It was a very scary scene, and one that seemed all-too-familiar for Bills' fans and players alike. Luckily, however, it appears as though Harris is "heading in the right direction" toward a speedy recovery.

Bills' Coach McDermott Offers Positive Update on RB Damien Harris' Condition

A story from ESPN shared an update on the condition of Buffalo Bills' RB Damien Harris, who was injured during his only rush attempt of his team's game on Sunday against the New York Giants.

Here is a look at the play in which Harris was injured:

Admittedly, before seeing Harris on the ground, I had thought the hit laid by Bobby Okereke seemed pretty benign. That said, when you hear the sound of the collision at full speed, you can understand why the impact injured Harris so badly.

Harris remained down for multiple minutes, while medical personnel evaluated him for an injury. For the time being, the whole stadium, and the football world, held their breath.

Soon after, Harris was gingerly placed onto a stretcher, while an ambulance was driven onto the field at Highmark Stadium. It was impossible not to think back to January 2, 2023, when an ambulance was brought onto the field in Cincinnati on the night when Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest.

That night serves as a memory that haunts a lot of football fans. For those who had witnessed Hamlin's collapse on the field, it made Harris' injury just a bit more scary to witness.

Moments later, fans were given a sign of hope, as Harris flashed a thumbs up to the crowd and camera as he was being transported into the ambulance, which then brought him to the hospital.

Now, to the real good news: Damien Harris has been released from the hospital in Buffalo, and is resting at home. Bills' coach Sean McDermott was quoted as saying that Harris seems to be good in spirits, is doing as well as can be expected, and that his recovery is moving in the right direction.

The official diagnosis was a neck sprain for Damien Harris, but reports have stated that he can move his arms and legs without any issue.

All we can say is...phew.
