The 2025 NFL draft has officially ended, leaving football fans all over in a state of excitement, as we approach the next installment of NFL football.  This years draft was especially thrilling as all three of our regional teams of interest picked in the top 10.  With the Giants at 3, Patriots at 4, and Jets at 7, everyone around the capital region was anxiously waiting for this draft to see who their favorite team would end up selecting.  Let's grade and break down how each of our three teams did in this years NFL draft.

New York Giants

Picks:

1/3 Abdul Carter Edge Penn St

1/25 Jaxson Dart QB Ole Miss

3/65 Darius Alexander DT Toledo

4/105 Cam Skattebo RB ASU

5/154 Marcus Mbow G Purdue

7/219 Thomas Fidone II TE Nebraska

7/246 Korie Black CB Oklahoma St

Grade A

I think the Giants executed their round one gameplan to perfection.  They get arguably the best pound for pound athlete in the draft in Carter at number 3, then still get their pick at any quarterback they want by trading up to select Dart, all without sacrificing an abundance of assets as well.  Cam Skattebo might be the steal of the draft at 105, and the running back will surely thrive with that high motor in the Big Apple.

New York Jets

Picks:

1/7 Armand Membou OT Mizzou

2/42 Mason Taylor TE LSU

3/73 Azareye'h Thomas CB FSU

4/110 Arian Smith WR UGA

4/130 Malachi Moore S Alabama

5/162 Francisco Mauigoa LB Miami

5/176 Tyler Baron Edge Miami

Grade B+

After missing out on Brock Bowers in last years draft many suspected if Penn St TE Tyler Warren was still on the board at number 7, no way the Jets pass that up.  That would in fact be the case as they opt rather than get the big TE, to get a big tackle instead and beef up that offensive line.  Now is it a sexy pick? Not by any means no.  However should Membou and last years first pick Fashanu pan out, you now have both your tackles set over the next 10 years or so.  That's an incredibly important position to have figured out if the Jets want any chance of competing with the other top teams in the AFC.  It'll also certainly make Justin Fields life immensely easier.  Mason Taylor may not have been the top TE in the draft, but you can still most likely pencil him in as a week one starter, in fact a lot of the guys the Jets drafted probably have a good shot at making an impact early into next season.

New England Patriots

1/4 Will Campbell OT LSU

2/38 TreVeyon Henderson RB OSU

3/69 Kyle Williams WR Washington St

3/95 Jared Wilson C UGA

4/106 Craid Woodson S Cal

4/137 Joshua Farmer DT FSU

5/146 Bradyn Swinson Edge LSU

6/182 Andres Borregales K Miami

7/220 Marcus Bryant OT Mizzou

7/251 Julian Ashby LS Vanderbilt

7/257 Kobee Minor CB Memphis

Grade A-

The Pats I'm sure knew that the odds of a Travis Hunter or an Abdul Carter falling to them at 4 was unlikely at best, but Will Campbell is not very far off the talent level of those guys.  Graded by far the best offensive lineman in the draft, the Pats secured Drake Maye's blind side for years to come, and filled a massive need in their roster.  Henderson in the second round is a great offensive talent as well who can make an impact in both the rushing and passing game from the running back position.  Add in some very solid mid to late round acquisitions and the Pats despite not getting the "big names" in this draft class, actually come away with one of the most balanced and helpful draft packages out of anyone in the NFL.  Some of these later picks certainly won't play right away, but that doesn't mean their names won't be called on throughout the season.

The Buffalo Bills wound up picking at 30 and took the CB from Kentucky Maxwell Hairston.  They'd then go mostly defense the rest of the way taking South Carolina DT TJ Sanders at 41, and Arkansas Edge rusher Landon Jackson at 72.  The Bills are one of the few teams not looking for immediate difference makers, but simply looking for guys to add depth to their team.
