It seems that there is always drama circling horse racing trainer and legend Bob Baffert but after winning his record seventh Kentucky Derby with Medina Spirit the drama is stronger than ever. We spoke to NYRA's Andy Serling and horse racing insider Dick Jerardi to try to make sense of Derby winner Medina Spirit's failed drug test and if it'll have an effect on the 146th running of the Preakness Stakes this Saturday. Both insiders took a similar stance.

NYRA's Andy Serling who is known for getting directly to the point scoffed at the notion that Medina Spirit himself has any awareness of the scandal surrounding him and thus would not affect the horse's performance Saturday in Baltimore. The long-term fallout of what repercussions Baffert could face didn't factor into Serling's pick for the Preakness. You can listen to his full prediction below but he likes the #5 Midnight Bourbon to win the second leg of the Triple Crown.

A day later Dick Jerardi joined Levack and Bahl and he went deeper into the testing process and what he expects. Jerardi feels there's a good chance that Medina Spirit and Bob Baffert will be stripped of their Kentucky Derby win as a result of a second test and future hearing.

When asked about who he thinks is a good bet to win the Preakness Jerardi also picked Midnight Bourbon. His full breakdown including who he likes for today's Black-Eyed Susan can be heard below.
