After Devastating Fire, Capital Region Diner Has Officially Reopened
Just over one year ago, devastation struck the staff and clientele of Inga's Diner in Colonie.
As reported by First Responder News, at 1:16 PM on September 7th, 2023 , the Fuller Road Fire Department, Shaker Road Fire Department, Colonie Village Fire Company, West Albany Fire Department and Colonie Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to Inga’s Diner at 39 Fuller Road for a reported kitchen fire.
As emergency crews would soon discover, there was an active gas leak coming from behind the stove that led to the fire. The blaze, which originated at the rear of the restaurant, did significant structural damage.

The damage was so bad, in fact, that the diner was forced to close its doors for renovations, a process that took over a year.
Remarkably, just 408 days after the devastating fire, Inga's Diner was reopened to the public. On October 19th at 7AM, patrons streamed through the doors once again, ordering the same eggs, bacon, pancakes and coffee that Inga's has been serving for years.

"Diner realness. This place should be in a movie. And the food is exactly what I expected -- excellent. Cleaned up and better kept." - Yelp
