Alex Ovechkin came up big when his team's back was against the wall, notching a goal. Not to be outdone, fellow big name Nicklas Backstrom had a goal and two assists.

The Isles could not take advantage of Caps starting goalie Braden Holtby being ill and backup / rookie Philipp Grubauer getting the nod.

And now, Ovechkin is feeling it.

"When we play our game," said Ovechkin, post-game, "we stay in their zone, everything can happen."

With the series tied up at one, it all now moves to New York for games 3 and 4 this Sunday and Tuesday. This is the Islanders last post-season at Nassau Coliseum, where they have been since 1972. The team is moving to Brooklyn next year.

ESPN NHL analyst Barry Melrose will join Armen and Levack this Monday at 5:15p ET on 104.5 The Team.
