On July 16, 1996 Metallica played the New York State fairgrounds in Syracuse as part of that summer's Lollapalooza Tour. Three decades later Metallica returned to Syracuse to play a show in-front of more than 47,000 fans. Were you there?

On April 19th Metallica set a new record for largest ticketed event in Syracuse history. It's also the biggest crowd to attend an event at the JMA Wireless Dome with more that 47,500 fans in the building. The Who had the previous record at just over 43,000.

Metallica opened their 16-song set at the Syracuse show with the tune 'Creeping Death' from their 1984 album 'Ride the Lightning'. Take a look at the official Syracuse performance video below from Metallica's YouTube Channel.
