Traffic Alert, Crash on I-87 Has Lanes Closed On the Northway for This Morning’s Commute
TRAFFIC ALERT in the Capital Region! Interstate 87, the Northway, is closed in Queensbury! This closure is expected to be in place through the morning commute. Plan accordingly.
According to the New York State Police, there is a travel advisory for motorists planning to head southbound on I-87 at Exit 20 in Queensbury. The southbound lanes are closed due to a crash involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle.
At approximately 6:30am Wednesday the New York State Police published a post on their social media pages to alert motorists of a morning mess on the Northway. Traffic is being diverted off the Northway at Exit 20. Closure is expected to be in place through the morning commute.
Driving in 2025 has become more and more challenging with weather conditions constantly changing, impaired drivers and distracted drivers. We do not know what caused today's crash on the Northway but we encourage all motorists to use this as a reminder that the texts can wait.
