
After 40 Yrs Popular Chain Eatery in Guilderland Closes Permanently
There is a chain restaurant that has been a staple in Guilderland for forty years and this past Tuesday, it permanently closed. Anchoring Stuyvesant Plaza, the eatery is well-known as a family-friendly restaurant.
TGI Fridays in Stuyvesant Plaza Has Closed Forever
According to the Times Union, TGI Fridays is closing thirty-six restaurants as part of a strategy to help streamline operations and finances. The one in Stuyvesant Plaza is part of the massive closures. There are 650 TGI Fridays in 31 countries.
Ray Risley who is the U.S. president and COO of TGI Fridays said to Nation's Restaurant News,
By strengthening our franchise model and closing underperforming stores, we are creating an unprecedented opportunity for Fridays to drive forward its vision for the future.
Even though the TGI Fridays that are closing have not been released, the TGI Fridays inside Stuyvesant Plaza are off the restaurant website and the Stuyvesant Plaza website.
Eighty percent of the employees affected by the closure will be able to transfer. There are two other TGI Fridays in the Capital Region. They are in Wilton and Clifton Park.
