Another Capital Region Deli Closes Its Doors, Effective Immediately
Sorrentino's Deli Permanently Closes Doors
Sorrentino's Delicatessen & Market, a longtime favorite in South Glens Falls and Halfmoon, has permanently closed its doors, citing recent family health issues.
The announcement came Tuesday in a heartfelt message posted to the deli's Facebook page, writing:
"It's with heavy hearts that we must announce that due to recent health changes in our family, we've come to the difficult decision to permanently close. As a family, we believe that this is the best path forward for us, so that we can focus on health, recovery, and togetherness."

The Closure Happened Quickly
According to the Times Union, the deli was forced to close last Thursday because of a medical emergency. It briefly reopened Friday and Saturday before closing early Sunday and never reopening.
The Sorrentino family thanked employees and customers for decades of support, noting their 20 years serving South Glens Falls and 30 years in Halfmoon.

"We would like to thank all of our amazing staff and customers... We apologize that this decision had to be made so quickly, and that we were not able to say a proper goodbye."
For many in the Capital Region, Sorrentino's was more than just a deli. It was a neighborhood institution known for its sandwiches, prepared foods, and family atmosphere.
Third Deli to Close This Year
Sadly, Sorrentino's becomes the third longtime family-owned deli in the Capital Region to close this year, following the closures of Genoa Importing in Loudonville and Gershon's Deli & Caterers in Schenectady.
Our thoughts are with the Sorrentino family, and we wish them strength, healing, and brighter days ahead.
