Forbes Best-In-State

Every year, Forbes Magazine complies a list of the best employers across America. They state that a "[sure] sign of a great employer is an engaged workforce", and they want to find the best of the best. They partner with market research firm Statista, who survey over 245,000 employees across the country to see if they're happy and satisfied with their place of work.

There are thousands of companies selected, anywhere from three to 101 per state. This year, 1,365 American employers landed on the list, and one of them comes directly from New York's State Capital.

CDPHP Gets Their Flowers

Founded in 1984 in Albany, NY, Capital District Physicians' Health Plan, or CDPHP, made the cut in 2026. They've made this list twice before, in 2020 and 2021, as well as hitting the 2026 "Best Midsize Employers" list.

It's a healthcare firm that employs 1,058 people, and routinely makes sure that they love where they work. Employees receive comprehensive benefits like 401K programs, health screenings, hybrid work, and more.

CEO Barry Thornton II says all the honor should go to them. It's the people that make CDPHP, and without them the company would not be anywhere near as valuable, helpful, and well received as they are today.
