Luckily, most of us never plan on doing anything about those feelings, but one Capital Region man may have gotten ahead of himself.

Worst Murder Plot Ever?
We can't all be villains in a David Fincher movie. Jean Sutherland of Colonie certainly thought he was. Between late 2024 and early 2025, Sutherland began an intricate plot to kill the father of his current girlfriend's son. Whether it was out of jealousy or some other reason, no one's quite sure.
Regardless, it started with a man that owed Sutherland money. He agreed to forgive the debt if the man killed his target for him. He then reached out to a local farmer with the hopes that he could dispose the body on the farm by feeding it to the pigs. There was just one tiny issue...
It Was the FBI
Yeah, you read that headline right. The farmer ended up being an undercover FBI agent, who began building a case against Sutherland. In January of 2025, Sutherland paid another man to deliver the corpse of a dead Canadian goose to the victim's mother's doorstep, with a threatening note attached to the beak.
Sutherland was arrested on January 27th, 2025, and has been held in custody since. He was sentenced on February 10th to 87 months in prison, a $15,000 fine, and three years of supervised release upon the ending of his prison time.
