$2 Day At This 207 Year Old Upstate New York Fair
The countdown is on for one of the Capital Region's biggest traditions. The Great Schaghticoke Fair is back this September, and this year it is kicking things off with a deal that is hard to beat.
The Great Schaghticoke Fair will celebrate its 207th season from September 2 through September 7. Opening day on Wednesday, September 2, will be celebrated as $2 Day, giving fairgoers a chance to enjoy the fair at a much lower cost.
Special $2 Deal On Opening Day
Admission on opening day will be just $2. Select food items will also be available for $2, and rides will cost $2 each when you purchase a minimum of 10 rides. It is a great opportunity for families looking to enjoy a day at the fair without spending a fortune.
Of course, there is much more to the Schaghticoke Fair than just rides. Visitors can check out agricultural exhibits, livestock barns, homemade crafts, baked goods, antiques, fruits, vegetables, and more.
There Are Specialty Shows At The Fair
Plus, there are specialty shows including Circus Murica and Sea Lion Splash. It is a chance to experience a tradition that has been part of the community for more than two centuries.
Popular events like the demolition derby and tractor pulls are also expected to draw large crowds throughout the week. Whether you come for the food, the entertainment, the animals, or the midway, there is something for all ages to enjoy.
How Much Does It Cost?
After opening day, regular admission will be $15 cash for adults. Children 13 and under are admitted free every day.
The Great Schaghticoke Fair takes place rain or shine at 69 Stillwater Bridge Road in Schaghticoke. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with rides opening at noon each day.
