Police: Hudson Woman Encouraged Children to Settle Snapchat Drama With Fists
Snapchat Beef in Columbia County
We've all seen some pretty disturbing trends on social media, including videos of violent fights that somehow become entertainment for people online.
But when those fights involve children, and the adults who should know better are allegedly encouraging the violence instead of stopping it, that's when things go from disturbing to potentially criminal.
And that's exactly what authorities say happened recently in Columbia County.

Accused of Encouraging Two Minors to Fight
According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, a 33-year-old Hudson woman is facing charges after authorities say she encouraged two children, both under the age of 12, to physically fight over a disagreement involving Snapchat.
Investigators say she didn't just encourage the fight. She allegedly stood there and cheered them on.
Columbia County Sheriff Jacqueline Salvatore says the incident happened October 3rd at the Greenport Garden Apartments on Green Acres Road.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Sasha Brown, 33, of Hudson, allegedly encouraged the children to settle their Snapchat dispute by fighting each other.
Investigators said that Brown not only encouraged them to throw down, but she continued to encourage the children as they fought. Brown apparently knew one child but not the other.

Incident Caught on Video
The whole thing was reportedly caught on video and shared on social media, prompting public questions and an investigation by Columbia County Child Protective Services.
Thankfully, authorities say neither child was injured or required hospital treatment.
Brown has since been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor, and she was issued an appearance ticket for a later date.
Whatever the argument was about, it's hard to see how encouraging two kids to throw punches was supposed to solve it.
