Japan Wins LLWS Championship
SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — The international team from Japan has won the Little League World Championship. In the title game Tokyo defeated Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, 18-11.
Tokyo won the Little League World Series by pounding out 22 hits and overcoming an eight-run first-inning deficit.
The Kitasuna Little League team, also the winner in 2001 and 2012, gave Japan its 10th title.
The international team has won five of the last six Little League World Championships.
