Jason Kidd Arrested for DWI

Sources within the Knicks organization are saying that the team will not match the offer sheet that Jeremy Lin signed with the Houston Rockets. This news may change that.

Jason Kidd was arrested earlier today and charged with misdemeanor DWI after he drove his luxury SUV into a telephone pole. Kidd, who just signed a 3 year, $9 million contract with the Knicks, suffered only minor injuries and has been released on his own recognizance.

If the Knicks do in fact let Lin sign with the Rockets, it will certainly place a larger burden on the 39 year old Kidd to orchestrate the offense. The future Hall of Famer averaged 6.2 points and 5.5 assists last season for the Mavericks, while logging just under 29 minutes per game.

Kidd has yet to comment on today’s incident.
