The biggest difference in this year's The Basketball Tournament will be Jimmer Fredette's presence. The former Glens Falls and BYU star is no longer a coach of Team Fredette, he's the best player.

With Jimmer on the active roster, Team Fredette has secured a 2 seed for the TBT in July and it just may be the right stage and the right audition he needs to impress NBA people for a path back into the world's best league. Even from draft night for Jimmer in 2011 and his last season on an NBA roster in 2015-'16, the game has changed and to his benefit. Are you telling me Jimmer couldn't thrive off the bench in a system like Mike D'Antonio's in Houston? He couldn't provide an affordable scoring option for the salary cap-strapped Warriors?

With another guaranteed year on his contract with the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association, Jimmer has options and that's never a bad thing in life.
