The Kentucky Derby is the mecca of horse racing and while local trainer Chad Brown has won many big races, he has yet to reign in his first Kentucky Derby victory. Brown will send out Practical Joke this Saturday in hopes to not only bring home a career changing victory to the loyal patrons in Mechanicville, but for himself as well.

Still a resident of Saratoga, Brown has a loyal following in the local 518. Affectionately known as "The Tree Huggers", a mix of family and friends who still can be seen sitting at the same tree they did years ago when Brown was just a child with a dream. Chad has even joined them on certain days throughout the meet to thank them for their loyal support.

On Saturday, tree huggers all around will wager and wait to see if their local kid can take down the 143rd Kentucky Derby. Practical Joke will break from post 19 and will have a lot of hopes in his hooves when the gate breaks open at approx. 6:34pm on Saturday and who knows, we might see history in the making.

Chad joined Rodger Wyland, Chris Onorato and "The Closer" Brian Mariano on Big Board Sports Wednesday Morning to talk about the race. You can see that interview below.
