Like most college football fans, I was all fired up for Saturday night's matchup of two top 3 teams. This was going to be the first and maybe last time Alabama would be tested all season. How would the Crimson Tide respond to the intimidation of a night game at Death Valley against a game LSU squad?

To the tune of full domination. We've drooled all year over Tua Tagovailoa's gaudy offensive numbers, but Bama's defense shone on Saturday night against the Tigers. The Tide fell well short of their 54 points per game average while still scoring an impressive enough 29 points, but the D shutout the third ranked team in the country and held it to an embarrassingly low yardage total for most of the game.

We didn't learn how Alabama would handle adversity late in a game, but what we did learn is that there's more than a good chance we'll never see the Crimson Tide face that challenge in 2018 or early 2019.
