The Yankees would rally late but it wasn't enough as they would lose 6-5 to the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday Night.

The game would be scoreless til the top of the 4th inning when Eric Chavez would hit a 2 run home run off of Rick Porcello. It was the first HR Porcello would give up in 60 innings. The Tigers would get tie it in the bottom of the inning thanks to another monster shot by Miguel Cabrera off of Phil Hughes and an RBI double by Jhonny Peralta scoring Brennan Boesch.

In the 5th inning Cabrera would strike again, hitting a 2 run double to take the lead for the Tigers. In the bottom of the 6th, the Tigers would tack on another run thanks to an RBI double by Andy Dirks. Top of the 7th would see Ichiro Suzuki help score Nick Swisher with an RBI double. Swisher would have a good game for the Yankees going 3-4 with two doubles.

In the bottom of the 8th the Tigers would add to their lead as Dirks would get his second RBI with single that scored Delmon Young. The Yankees would make it interesting in the 9th as they would score 2 runs thanks to RBI's from Ichiro and Russell Martin with 2 outs. Curtis Granderson would pop out for the final out and the Tigers win.
