Montgomery County Woman All Smiles After $1M Scratch-Off Payday!
A woman in Montgomery County closed out her summer on the highest of highs last week when it was announced by the NY Lottery she had claimed a giant lump-sum payment after hitting a scratch-off jackpot!
Congratulations to Valerie Kevlin of Amsterdam New York, winner of a $1M dollar grand prize after she scratched her way through a game from the NY Lottery called X SERIES: 20X.
According to a story in the Daily Voice, Kevlin bought the lucky ticket at a Stewart's on Rt. 30 in Amsterdam, she opted to receive her prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $546,840!
The NY Lottery's odds calculator shows that your chances of hitting the grand prize for this game are 1 in 3,547,150.00, and Kevlin hit 1 of the 4 grand prizes this game has to offer.
The Capital Region has had its share of big-time fistfuls of cash within the last year or so from the New York State Lottery.
Last January, a scratch-off called "Make My Year" was sold at the Cumberland Farms in Glens Falls. It was a 2.5 million dollar hit for one lucky Capital Region native.
Back in February of 2020, there was a million-dollar scratch-off winner sold at a Stewart's in Gloversville and that was from a game called "Make My Month." And Of course, the granddaddy of them all; back in September 2020, a 95 million dollar Powerball winning jackpot ticket was sold in Saratoga County.
